Landscape is about sight, it is believed: one admires it, fixes it in memory, tries to recreate it mentally. In reality, the contemplation of an environment, especially if it is natural, refers to a set of visual, but also sound and olfactory stimuli and gives life to a dynamic tension between the observer, the situation, his experience, what transcends him. Those who live in a place internalize it and make it the emotional background of their existence. Seasonal variations, the daily changing of the relationship between light and shadow which forces the green of the trees to take on different colors from hour to hour, the opaque tones of a foggy day, the reflection of a cloud in a minimal body of water in the spring sun, they become an inner heritage even before being a charm to be shared.
Anyone who grew up in that place - not always decipherable and sometimes elusive - becomes aware of being part of it, gradually discovering that what in the childhood years devastated the amazement of a spell is simply natural. Felice Feltracco has a profound awareness of all this, in painting to restore his precise relationship with reality. of the strip of land that runs from the Brenta to the Piave and skirts Monte Grappa, of the iridescent landscape that winds through it, narrates the poetry and material beauty with the almost immaterial and ethereal stroke of the watercolor, a technique that he masters with an absolutely original refined thanks to study and passionate research, to a spirit prone to constant experimentation.
Between memory and dream. Peaks and valleys of Monte Grappa, was created to accompany and deepen an exhibition itinerary, expanding its chronological limits, and prolonging an emotion over time: Lucrezia Bonamigo's texts, designed to frame and describe the subjects of the paintings, alternate fragments " diaries" by Felice Feltracco who, with the help of Elisa Tobaldo, has collected and put on paper, not only thoughts, reflections and suggestions, but also excerpts from his artistic career and annotations relating to pictorial solutions. The preface by Chiara Frugoni is clear and affectionate.
An act of love, book and exhibition, as well as civil commitment, for a land that is mother, source of inspiration, subject of an artistic transposition never exhibited, but always and only "whispered", in its innumerable glimpses and moments, as befits those who feel the dimension of the sacred.
